Sally Robbe's Original Art

About The Artist

Sally and her family are long time residents of Atlanta. Her love for art, however, started in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia.

While in her field of teaching, she started taking art classes at night with nationally known artist, Sarah Brown. After teaching, she began to pursue her art more actively and added work shops to her art study.

Most of Sally's work is done in oil with a palette knife. Her work is very diverse, defined, and filled with realism. She uses light, reflections, and color to achieve an end result that will stir the emotions of the viewer. She has a passion for portraits, and paints both people and animals on a commission basis. Landscape subjects are centered around places she and her family have visited. Her paintings show her interest in old barns, country homes, and stores in the rural south.

In addition to the above subjects, Sally became intrigued by a collection of fly fishing lures that were created and tied by a friend's father in the early sixties. She chose watercolor to create these lifelike flies. In total, there are 14 different fly paintings. Each print is hand signed by the artist, matted and ready for an 8 X 10 frame.

Sally's paintings have been exhibited in many art shows and galleries. She was selected to participate in the Trinity "Spotlight on Art" show. She was a cover artist in the Georgia Mountain Laurel and the The Laurel Magazine.
